GREAT RIVER ARTS FACULTY SHOW
GRAI Faculty Show, 2” x 2” Fundraiser, & Aho Painting Raffle

HANOVER, NH – Spheris Gallery opens an exhibition of work from 26 Great River Arts Institute Faculty on May 31st with an artists’ reception from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public and many of the artists will be in attendance to answer questions. Running concurrently is a show entitled, 2” X 2”, an exhibition and GRAI fundraiser of miniature artworks, matted and ready for framing. The gallery has raffle tickets available too for a chance to win a painting by noted artist and Great River Arts faculty, Eric Aho.

The 2” X 2” show and fundraiser for GRAI is an exhibition linked by scale and format. The GRAI faculty, alumni and friends generously donated these miniature gems. Their openhandedness provides everyone with a wonderful opportunity to begin an art collection, with examples of work by some of the most highly revered names in the Valley. Most are priced between $20 and $50.

Eric Aho’s pastoral painting, “Pale Spring Oak”, is being raffled off on July 19th and tickets will remain on-sale until that date for $40 each, or three for $100. “Pale Spring Oak” is an oil painting measuring 15 inches high by 30 inches wide, valued at $8,000. Tickets can be purchased at Spheris Gallery or at Great River Arts Institute, 33 Bridge Street, Bellows Falls, VT, 802- 463-3330 www.greatriverarts.org.

All proceeds from the fundraiser and raffle go directly to support OPEN ART, the arts and literacy outreach program offered by GRAI in twelve communities in the Connecticut River Valley. The OPEN ART program provides students the tools to build and expand their creativity through energetic programs that link a child to his or her environment through awareness, observation and creative interpretation. For more information on their Summer Camp and other unique opportunities for kids and the arts, visit their online program guide.

For the past nine years, Great River Arts Institute has nurtured the visual and literary arts through its New England-based arts center, by providing high-level workshops for adults from throughout the United States. It also provides regional art and literacy programs for students in twelve townships in the Connecticut River Valley, drawing on the same quality of talented faculty to reach out to school age youth. The Spheris exhibition brings together the diverse artworks of these noted artists, and celebrates the instructor’s commitment to art education.

Spheris Gallery’s custom designed, two-level art space is located on Main Street, just blocks from the Dartmouth College Campus in Hanover, NH.
